Marriage is a union between two, a collaboration of artists, an intervention, an intimate manifesto, and amongst other things, a drag show. Although we call it a marriage there is no written contract, and it’s not particularly relevant to the modern state institution (although it evokes some gay politics here). We are foregrounding instead questions about collaboration and subjectivity on/at a very limited stage: the potential of two. As two artists, Marriage is an ongoing project about our lives, bodies, communities, and our ability to communicate with each other and the audience. As two queer bodies, it also becomes an investigation of shape shifting and transformation both in the digital and real. In form this work reflects our shared history of working in performance, video, music, and of living together. Currently Math Bass lives in San Francisco, and Wu Tsang lives in Los Angeles. We have been collaborating since 2003. "Sentiment, Belief, and Medium" by Gregg Bordowitz (an essay about Marriage's video Dead and the Desert) Selected Videography:
